In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, the Parliament consists of 225 Members elected for a duration of five years. Seats have been allotted in the House based on the number of seats entitled to by such political parties/groups; Government parties to the right of the Chair and the Opposition parties/ groups to the left of the Chair. Once a parliament member is assigned to a seat, his/her finger templates will be transferred to that seat only and will be allowed to vote only from their seat.
The CenVote application was designed and developed for The Parliament of Sri Lanka allowing parliament members to vote using the fingerprint. All the parliament members’ fingerprint templates (maximum up to 5 fingers) will be captured and stored in a centralized SQL Server database. To capture fingerprint templates a USB fingerprint reader will be used.
CenVote is a standalone window based desktop application running on .Net Framework and Microsoft SQL Server is used as the database management system.
