Copal Amba operates 3 floors at the World Trade Center. Copal Amba had an urgent requirement to implement an access control systems for all their doors to increase security requirements and to maintain very strict security compliance. The existing access control system they had in place was not effective and reliable to provide for their requirements.

Case Study: Solution Provided

Cenmetrix deployed 51 RFID based card readers linked to door access systems. The RFID card reader was a solution from Suprema Inc called the Xpass Reader (www.cenmetrix.lk/product-xpass). The Xpass is a smart IP based access control unit providing a very high level of security. The readers covered all 3 floors and the data connected to a single database. Readers were mounted on both sides of the door, allowing for a secure ant-pass back feature. So if the user did not use his card to get in, he would not be allowed to exit, and vice versa.
In addition the readers were also used for Time Attendance purposes, where the first IN and the last Out was directly captured in real time and sent to Copal Amba’s internal T&A software.
